I love photography. I do not make a full time profession out of it as I hate not knowing where my next paycheck is coming from and let’s be honest... it doesn't pay so great. So, I am a banker by day and photo hobbyist by night. I do do paid work as a means of supporting my hobby and owning my own business is great come tax time. Because this is more hobby than job I get the luxury of working with who I want when I want. I also think it stays more fun this way.
If you look at my work I think it reflects my Eastern European heritage and my diversity. I prefer to shoot women because, like the Greeks, I believe the body is the most beautify thing in nature and the curves of a woman’s body are so much more interesting than a man’s geometric shape. One project I have always wanted to do was a shoot for a calendar in Cancun. Of course I would have to shoot a lot of weddings and other jobs and have the discipline to not buy a new camera to save the money for the project. Dreaming is nice though.
I do most work on a TFP basis because it allows me the freedom to take the kind of pictures I want without spending a lot of money. Plus I really enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories.
